They just donât get it â Part 368
From Guido this morning, this snippet. Pat Glass the new MP for North West Durham â trilling with excitement, not at the opportunity to help her new constituents, nor right social wrongs, nor solve the countryâs economic woes, but as Guido puts it:
A salary triple the average national wage, a gold-plated pension, a six-figure expense account, rent-free accommodation, international junkets, cheap bars, subsidised restaurants, not to mention your new Blackberry and flat. Pat, the gravy train has truly pulled into your station, enjoy yourself.
Add to this a little snippet from Tom Harrisâs blog.
One newly-elected MP told me today how she spent NINE HOURS attempting to make a single claim on IPSAâs brand spanking new (and for âbrand spanking newâ read âextremely expensive and malfunctioningâ) computer system.
Nine hours? An entire working day devoted to making her expenses claim? Theyâve only been there five minutes!
Truly the new intake of female MPs are proving to be a disgrace.
Or could it be worse than that? Could it just be the one female MP who is a total disgrace? Was that you making the expenses claim Pat Glass?

The comments on Tom Harrisâs blog are hilarious, now they know how it
feels, maybe theyâll now make better decisions regarding IT and
bureaucracy.
Using council and government websites is very
frustrating.
As for Pat Glass, iâm sure sheâs the tip of the iceberg . . .

The wedge is why they are there.

Since Denis Skinner wants nothing to do with the modern ageâ¦(but when did
he ever?) it might be interesting to know how he submits his claims, bearing
in mind that all claims now have to be submitted on-line.
And what sort of fool sits there for nine hours trying to submit a claim
when it might be apparent to all and sundry that the system has crashed?â¦silly
question really, it could only be an MP.

Good insight, I find it different and very interesting.

Thatâs the way to do it love, fill your boots â letâs face it, itâs the
only reason you are there, you and the other brain-dead traitors and
morons.

I love it. I hope the IPSA keep up the good work.
Clearly the system is too simple and needs more work.
MPs must suffer the indignities that Jo Public do at the hands of their
crap legislation and appalling (un)civil servants.
