The dénouement
It seems, Sister, that the coonie had escaped from a zoo in Königsberg
(Kaliningrad), to which it has been returned safe.

Defences on the PC prevent the video running but, sort-of ontopic, there
was a good documentary where the Russians have had an experiment running for
years where they selectively breed foxes. With careful choice they’ve got ones
that behave like ‘man’s best friend’ (howls of protest from Caedmon’s cat!),
the domestic dog. Others have remained Lord Byrons, “mad, bad and dangerous to
know”.
It proves how other canines like the wolf became the companion of
early humans and the nicer ones got food and shelter and went on to become the
wide variety of dog breeds seen today.
We just need the same methods used
on humourless gits in previous topics…

No protest from me, Livewire! Dogs are man’s best friend because they can
be manipulated through selective breeding. Suckers. I saw the same
documentary – the foxes were black and white Siberian ones, and the wild
ones were (to put it mildly) feisty. On the other hand, we cats are the
kings of cool: we do our own thing, and co-operate with humans when we feel
like it. The thickness of the veneer of civility in cats can be measured in
microns.

The veneer of feline independence still crumbles in the face of a tin
of sardines, though, doesn’t it?
“Forget cool – it’s feeding-time – gimme.”

You learn something new everyday! I didn’t know that raccoons were also
Russian residents..
