Libertarianism = Right Wing Crazies
The Guardian that well known apologist for anything big Government does has now let the ‘left wing’ loose on name calling. During the week George Monbiot ( have I spelt that right- who cares) did a piece on reclaiming the cyber-commons which roundly associates anybody who does not subscribe to the the insanity of Fabianism as ‘right wing’ American supporting pro big business, pro low tax Libertarians. Thus immediately in my eyes dismissing anything he has to say now and in the future as ignorant, ill researched drivel.
“Both traditional conservatives and traditional progressives tend be more willing to discuss an issue than these right-wing libertarians, many of whom seek instead to shut down debate.”
Yesterday I heard on Radio Four a comedian allegedly called Marcus Brigstock trying to make a link between the BNP and the American Tea Party movement, the BBC obviously not trying to keep to the Charter on Mr Brigstock.
Then this morning another comedian, called Ed Miliband has solemnly pronounced that hence forth his followers shall no longer call the Coalition- ‘The Coalition’ but the ‘Tory led Government’ to make them sound more evil and harsh.
So this is Labour’s big new idea- name calling.
Libertarians, George, are neither Left wing or Right wing, they want to be left alone in peace by authoritarian governments from deep blue to darkest red. We can make the best decisions for ourselves on all things at all times.

What was that old saying about motes and beams again?

Don’t forget David Baddiel and Alan Davies’s rubbishing yesterday of the FA as “a posher version of the BNP”.
All fine examples of lazy dog whistle politics.

Standard M.O. of Authoritarian crazies, be they religious or political, is to project their behaviour onto everyone else.
So Moonbat accuses others of shutting down debate while it goes on constantly at CiF … and shark attacks on tourists are blamed on Mossad by members of a certain religion which cannot be named, who would never, ever do such a thing of course.
All of which is repeated as gospel by the MSM.

What is impressive is the level of consensus among comedians at the BBC.
It must be almost 100%. -

It could be a good sign that they have noticed that they’ve lost credibility and people are thinking more for themselves, and thus need to be scared back into captivity.
Also it’s funny to see the statement about how so-called conservatives and so-called progressives are happy to cozy up together. There is of course a consensus between them on most things, and they dispute the minor differences. As a libertarian, I don’t want to shut down their debate, it’s just I have no interest in hearing it for the thousandth time and I know that the presuppositions it is based on are fallacious.

So the left leaning lot at UKUncut are willing to listen to arguments that Vodaphone, Topshop, et al do actually pay quite a bit of tax and that the arrangements they make mean that they still pay tax in other countries. Also will they listen to statements that the Guardian is one of the worst tax abusers. Nope? I didn’t think so.

Dear ms Raccoon,
I spend most of my time as a lurker. I don’t necessarily (but possibly do) agree with any/everything you say, BUT keep saying it.

I switch off the radio every time Marcus Brigstocke starts one of his left-wing rants (very thinly) disguised as comedy.

Brigstocke & Moonbat would make a jolly good Warmist comedy double-act. But there are just too many barking mad Warmists already – it must be tough to see the “Scientific facts” on which you’d based your prognostications being swept away by real science.
Ditto Fabianism – a now wholly discredited and hollow nonsense, with obviously illogical constructs.
Red Ed is fun, like a pet – let’s keep him just for the amusement value.-

Red Ed is not fun. Red Ed is dangerous. Red Ed is sneeky. Red Ed will make Broon’s attempts at stealth look pathetic.
Do NOT underestimate him – the Germans made that mistake with Hitler.

He’ll be replaced as soon as ‘t bruvvers wake up to their poor electoral chances with him. So enjoy the show – it’s not real.

I explained over here why I am not a “right libertarian”.
