Apologies folks. The plan was that I should be in a house in Ancona with broadband, and you would be entirely unaware of any disruption in service.

Along the 2000 kilometre way, I developed rampant Swine Flu, so named after the swine who gave it to me, now merely Bronchitis; the resident web and media expert we were delivering to Ancona was not able to connect to the Internet, although did deliver his expert and considered opinion on my web site, which is, quote ”basically crap” and requires a complete “make-over” to “do anything with”, something that cant be done whilst travelling.

Probably just as well, because the sheer volume of serious alcohol that I and a friend of mine, have found myself funding en route, in order to elicit that opinion ( in between hangovers) would probably have bankrupted us if anything as profound as actually “doing anything” with the computer other than watching old comedy shows, had been required. The £50 bill for double Jack Daniels was a particular corker – I have known hard bitten old Fleet Street hacks who would have baulked at the task of consuming five double Jack Daniels in a row and still walking and talking.

So, we are now slowly making our way back to France, via Pharmacies for me, and I shall be unable to update the web site for a week or so.

That being so, I intend to read up and teach myself whatever is needed to deal with the technical problems myself, rather than getting tangled up with and thus dependent on, any more experts, much simpler. Probably be two or three weeks.

In the meantime I am turning comments off, so that I can sleep at night, and not fret about my “baby” at the mercy of the spammers………
