McBride, McCann, McSpin and McSmear
There has long been speculation regarding the high level of support the McCanns received from within the government when their daughter Madeleine disappeared. It has been defended as ‘normal government support’ for a family in distress – but was it government support or Labour Party support?
The recent revelations of a high level ‘dirty tricks campaign’ within Downing Street has thrown new focus on the connections between government press officers and campaigns to ‘pervert the truth’ and implant false perceptions in the public domain.
One of the most discussed facets of the McCann saga has been the appointment of Clarence Mitchell, previously head of the government media monitoring unit, to act as family spokesman and general factotum of the McCann family.
Clarence Mitchell would certainly have worked closely with Damian McBride, the now disgraced political advisor revealed to be the author of scurilous rumours regarding the opposition Conservative Party.
A Plymouth web site has uncovered an intreiguing coincidence potentially linking the Downing Street ‘dirty tricks department’ and the McCann saga.
On the same day that McBride was sending his ill fated e-mails to Derek Draper, many miles away, another smear campaign was underway. Plymouth Labour Councillor Bill Stevens was writing on Draper’s Labourlist web site attempting to smear the reputation of Conservative Councillor Steve Rickets, by linking him to an incident which the McCann’s reportedly found ‘very distressing’.
Councillor Bill Stevens, who speaks for Labour on Governance issues, tells us that “Plymouth Councillor Steven Ricketts is closely linked to the main perpetrators”
The article has been withdrawn today, but excerpts from it can be seen here.
Was the appearence of that story orchestrated by Damien McBride?
The entire affair is beginning to resemble the film popular in the nineties – ‘Six Degrees of Separation’.
Lord Mandelson, close friend of Derek Draper, web master to Labourlist, close friend of Damian McBride, head of government ‘dirty tricks department’, colleague of Clarence Mitchell, purveyor of the McCann version of events, to Gerry McCann, COMARE colleague of John McCann, brother to the Labour Prime Minister, supporter of the McCann’s search for Madeleine in Morocco, holiday resort of Lord Mandelson, can I stop now? Would you care to continue playing this game on your own whilst I travel back to France?

All of which may bring us back to Freeport and inter-Governmental relations therein ………….
I adore the drip, drip, drip effect being afforded us by Mr. Amaral. It is
like watching one of those irritating films that has you on the edge of your seat.Boothby and the Krays keeps popping into my mind!
New Labour has not so much woven a web …………… as woven a cloth!
A cloth of so many different threads and colours ……………. that I would describe it as Tartan and therefore must be attributed to some major Scottish machinations!
Top-flight corruption being brought to us courtesy of our own Government.

The people mentioned above have formed a clan just like Merry Gerry formed his with his holiday chums.
My main concern is that I now fear that there is another narcissistic Scotsman just like Merry Gerry – and he is standing right up to his bollocks in something very unsavoury ……………. I am making this person my prime arquido.
Gordon Browneye ……………… I believe you to be the chief suspect in keeping information from your countrymen. – None of whom chose you to be the Prime Minister anyway!
What do you really know about how far McBride’s smear campaign was prepared to go? How much would you admit to contributing if you were forced to admit that you did know much more about it than you are cracking on?
What do you not want us to know about the smell of a cadaver in apartment 5A where blood was also found? You may remember that a child had gone missing from that apartment some months before. Her name was Madeleine McCann. Sometimes her father spells her name wrongly – but I am think that I have spelt it properly.
What if the cadaver odour and the blood belonged to that three years old child? Nobody else has ever died or split their head open in that apartment. So if it wasn’t MM ……………. Who died there?
Do you agree that everything should be done to find out exactly what did happened to the three years old child who was after all a British Subject holidaying with her family in a foreign country?
I am sure that you must remember the incident – because it is alleged that you called the Portuguese authorities to enquire whether Goncarlo Amaral, the chief investigator of the case had been removed from the case. So …………… it must have been really important to you at the time! Although …………… you do seem to have distanced yourself from the Clan. Although I am not sure that you are not party to knowledge of Press bans on the subject.
What did you find out from the Embassy workers in Portugal when MM disappeared? You received information that said something like, ‘……… Because the British Public would not stand for it?’ What would we not be able to withstand Browneye? Did I mishear that bit? Or was it in an email I read? …………….
Get in the ring Gordie. Step out of the Clan. Your Methodist upbringing will not have prepared you for what is to come.

I have always been disgusted at the extraordinary level of government support the McCanns have received following their loss of Madeleine as a result of their serial (and so far unprosecuted) child neglect. I had assumed it was because, like many in government, they are also whining loud-mouthed Scots.

Steve
Only half of them was a whining loud-mouth Scot – besides they’re both Irish-in-origin (so with apologies to my Irish bf & our possible future children) – I feel we should upload the blame on to the Emerald Isle…
