Drop the dead Donkey……
The BBC have not completely abandoned in depth investigative journalism. They have just unearthed this gem to add balance to an emotive report of the devastation in Gaza.
The price of Donkeys is subject to an inflationary rise – there is no petrol.
See? They do research their stories. Never again shall we complain that they don’t look further than the nearest Hamas spokesperson. We can rely on them to keep us informed.

If it was down to me – I would get all off the donkeys out of Gaza!
In fact I would get all the animals out of Gaza because they are treated so
badly – and then I would give everybody 48 hours to get to the borders.
Then I would turn the whole Gaza strip into a War-Zone theme-park for all
the Jews and Moslems who want to fight about a bit of sand and rocky
particles.
I reckon I would make a bloody fortune
After all – it seems as if all the Moslems and all the Jews in the World want
to cause mayhem because of that poxy little strip. So they can fight and scrap
and issue fatwahs to their hearts content!
In fact – I’ll import all the Afghanistanis, Iraqis and Iranians – so they
can all live happily ever after in the sand. I bet the Saudi Arabians will
turn down my invitation though!!!
They know what side their bread is buttered!
Oh! And I will get the Swiss to build the hotels – because they are
generally quite neutral – and won’t cause me any bother!
I will even provide the tanks and ammo
I offered this final solution to Tony Blair a couple of times – but as
usual – he thinks he knows best – and he ignored my emails.

Actually, in Gaza, there is a Donkey Dominance Division and an Ass
Ascendency Alliance.

I can’t find the source of that report. However, perhaps the new BBC
Editorial Guidelines and Compliance Policy (around three days old I believe)
are to blame. Stations are no longer allowed to broadcast anything that has
not been checked by a relevant official source, in case of complaint from
interested parties.

The old grey donkey, Eeyore stood by himself in a thistly corner of the
Forest, his front feet well apart, his head on one side, and thought about
things. Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, “Why?” and sometimes he
thought, “Wherefore?” and sometimes he thought, “Inasmuch as which?” and
sometimes he didn’t quite know what he was thinking about.

Could explain why they bought up their Donkeys just before Christmas, for
their in depth coverage at that time. They can now cash them in for a profit
and save the licence payers some money.
