Saturday Evening Posts Worth Reading.
Moor Larkin celebrates an achievement – 500 forensically painstakingly researched articles on the Savile phenomena. (Yes, it did make me check – I have written 274 over a longer period, and even then not so closely focussed). Well done Moor – now about that book?
An intelligent, well written, and interesting series of articles detailing how prison is really set up for the serial offender – and the particular trials and tribulations of being a first time inmate who didn’t expect to be there. Perhaps for white collar crime?
The BBC has had quite enough of ‘What the papers say’, thank you very much.
More shenanigans at Oxford University – don’t that lot have a dissertation to write?
Whatever attracted you to solve this crime, Mr Plod? Police exhume victim’s body after death they hadn’t investigated following £250,000 reward for finding his killer being offered on radio show.
Elsewhere, police spend three hours capturing a Unicorn….

Indeed the name of the blog would seem to suggest it and you’re right, very well presented. Sounded similar to JK’s writings-obviously well educated, literate, thoughtful and above all insightful. *bookmarked*

I shall miss ‘What The Papers Say’ – that brief and considered review, usually rendered with some analytical wit and wisdom, served as a suitable epilogue to the public week.
Still, I suppose that’s another £50 saved that they can spend on extra sequins for ‘Strictly’ or a makeover for the Queen Vic. Oh what a circus…. - Bandini

Moor Larkin hasn’t quite made it to the big 5-0-0 yet (see comments), so you’ll get another chance to give him a very well deserved pat on the back when he does!

Thank you, Anna, for that interesting weekend reading material.

I’ve now read all the articles you linked to, so may I add to my earlier comment? When I’ve finished my glass of wine and ciggie (both now deemed beyond-the-pale but, Sod it, it’s my choice!) I shall retire to bed, thoroughly disillusioned with the current state of the world. I do hope it will look somewhat better in the morning. But I’m not too sure about that….

I am so impressed with Anna Raccoon and Moor Larkin’s output it is difficult to express that admiration.

Loved the one about the Unicorn chase; “A local with a horse helped police lure Juliet into a trailer.”
Would that the UK Police done the same with all the false Savile claimants. How much public money would have been saved? But no, we had to have the #Ibelieveher witch hunt and associated circus. Despite the indicators that his accusers couldn’t lie straight in their own beds. How much has operation Yewtree cost the UK taxpayer?
Thomas Babington MacAulay summed the whole circus up way back in 1830; “We know no spectacle so ridiculous as the British public in one of its periodical fits of morality.” It seems that little changes.
