Before the link above I was part of the .001% and I commend the link to any remaining members of the .001% who haven’t read it as yet —Just as I can now never see Ed Miliband without thinking Man Flu Miliband so it will be that never will I see Russell Brand without thinking Bully Brand …..mind you I can’t see a ready made lasagne without thinking horse meat eating classes ….well I personally never thought much of Miliband, Brand or those who relish ready made lasagna ….never knew quite why till I had them deconstructed for me by bloggers. Gosh the web becomes more and more as I imagine the forum in Rome or Athens to have been every time I visit it ……a mass of babbling people with the occasional large crowd gathered in pretty much silence around someone with something pertinent to say. An absolute joy for an old codger like me and one wonders quite where it might all lead in due course though patently it is likely to be in a very different direction than the MSM.-

Yes, a man moaning about his paella getting cold is a really valid counterpoint to another man using his notoriety to actually, you know, campaign and try to DO something on behalf of those not fortunate enough to be in his position.

He doesn’t need to campaign so much as set an example. Other than shouting ‘LOOK AT ME!’, a millionaire complaining about other millionaires, and Council housing while living in a hugely expensive flat, is not actually doing anything worthwhile.
Matthew 19:
21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
In any case, it isn’t a housing problem that this country has but an immigration problem: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/comment/city-eye-facts-on-a-plate-our-population-is-at-least-77-million-395428.html

@windsock
Sorry I didn’t make the point I wanted to make very well and please permit me to try again. The issue I addressed was not the need or otherwise to criticise the banking industry but Brands approach to criticism of it and his criticism of other topics he chooses for his act ….and yes I think act is the right word for him ….at the wire……actually well before the wire……. his indignation appears to lack authenticity and depth (is it just a glossy but paper thin cliché I wonder?) and might be viewed by some as a convenient or self serving indignation ……and the clue to his bullying might have been detected in his joint antics with Jonathan Ross but is deconstructed rather better by the author of the blog..
Might I suggest you consider that your quite proper indignation at the bankers not be confabulated with admiration of a bully who picks on an easy target to try to either raise a laugh or garner personal admiration for his by no means original insight into the woes of the world……if genuinely indignant I suggest his actions and humour might be rather different, less contrived ( he hides his contrivances well behind a spontaneity which appears faux to some) and rather less self serving.

Part of the .001% – the postie never seems to deliver open letters. Brilliant response (too any four letter words mind) about an event that had entirely passed me by.

ditto except the adult language doesn’t bother me, infact it rather enhances the letter I feel.

Off topic, but an R.I.P. to Mandy Rice-Davies, a lady I never met but via whom I learned so much.
As a curious 12-year-old when the ‘scandal’ happened, and with parents who shrank from discussing such matters, it forced me to learn how to learn, how to find out what a ‘call girl’ was, or a ‘good time girl’, and to ponder how/why such an attractive young girl should associate with such ugly old men, or indeed why such ugly old men would even want to be with such young people.
Never thought much of Christine Keeler, but Mandy R-D was not only attractive but very smart too , something proved through her later life, when she remained very attractive until the end. She was bright, she knew what the game was all along and knew how to play it well.
I hope she enjoyed it – I certainly enjoyed what she taught me more than 50 years ago. Thanks, Mandy, and goodnight.
