The calibre of the candidates in Bradford is measured in milimetres…
Is Bradford about to secede from the United Kingdom? You could be forgiven for wondering if it is not a separate ‘country’ these days.
The sitting MP, he of the newly grown ‘Muslim’ beard, the rejection of alcohol, and the new Muslim wife, allegedly cleaved to in a Muslim ceremony, despite the fact that he is currently trying to sue Jemima Khan for claiming that he became a Muslim 10 years ago…has taken the left-wing obsession with ‘dissing’ all that is typically British to new lows. The overriding principle of the far left is a visceral hatred for British heritage and interests.
While British soldiers were dying in Iraq, he toured the Middle East praising the insurgents for their courage and martyrdom. On taking his seat, he refused to take the Oath, instead affirming:
I had to take an oath of allegiance in which I don’t believe, to the Queen and all her heirs and successors, and I have no allegiance to any of them, and I could not possibly swear such a thing on a holy book.
So segregated has Galloway’s new constituency become that there have even been calls from within the Muslim community for it to secede from Britain and become a separate emirate under Sharia Law.
Over the past few days there have been some extraordinary developments in the campaign for local council seats in the May 3rd elections.
First up we have the Respect Party’s candidate for Bowling and Barkerend ward, Mr Asif Khan, on the right in the picture. Mr Khan is demonstrating his charitable good works in this picture, he was allegedly distributing £20,000 ‘chugged’ from local Bradford residents to the impoverished tribal inhabitants of the Pakistan/Afghan border lands.
So delighted are the residents of Osama bin Laden’s hiding place to be handed gifts of clothes, food and money, that this activity requires an armed guard and an AK47. Other photographs of Mr Khan on his Facebook page showing his prowess with a variety of lethal weapons are purely and simply due to his membership of the Shipton ‘shooting grounds’. Voters should not be misled into believing that Mr Khan is like that other Bradford resident, Shehzad Tanweer, the suicide bomber of 7/7, who was also fond of being photographed holding lethal weapons. Not at all. No Sir. Definitely not. Absolutely not trying to appeal to the same base anti-British instincts whatsoever.
Mr Khan’s photographs circulating at election time did not impress fellow candidate Amir Hussein.
‘Call yourself a Muslim candidate’? he jeered. ‘Call that a weapon’? Metaphorically of course, he wouldn’t dream of giving such a quote to the press.
However, before you could say ‘Sharia Law for All’ another photograph popped through the front door of the local Telegraph and Argus newspaper.
Now that’s what you call a Muslim candidate…
Sheesh, no wonder George Galloway turned perma-brown and grew a Muslim beard; even the Conservative candidate, John Robertshaw is talking of ‘coming out fighting’ – Yes, but has he got the firepower?

Just one small correction Anna, Tanweer was from Leeds not Bradford.
On a more serious point, I’ve just got off the phone with Baroness Eaton (who is my ward colleague and up for election), former Conservative leader of Bradford. The funny thing is that we were struck by how quiet this election has been here in Bingley Rural. The good (and they are good) voters here will have received a lovely leaflet from Margaret and nothing from any other political party.
However, on the subject of pictures with guns, our current group leader would, I’m pretty sure, win hands down. But then he was a soldier for 16 years, went to the Falklands and spent a lot of time as REME attachment to the Parachute Regiment (someone has to keep their kit going).

“…are purely and simply due to his membership of the Shipton ‘shooting grounds’. “
Grouse season on the nearby moors must be a pretty interesting occasion…

Maybe you mean ‘Skipton’ – and that be Halal grouse, I assume ?
(Although they’re not compelled to label it as such, despite a noble attempt last week by one non-Taliban MP in that locality, in case the rest of the shoppers became aware of the inhumane slaughter method used on much of the produce they buy every day at Tesco, Asda etc.).

A cynical person may assume that the Rocket Launcher picture is an example of exactly what is being purchased with the money raised for the Jihad in Af/Pac border area.
If I were to be even more cynical I would mention that “Obligatory” duty on all Muslims who are not personally able to actively participate in Jihad. This in an obligation on all Muslims who live in the House of War (Dar Al Harb) or as we call it the West.
– Send Money to aid in the Jihad
– Send at least one member of the Mosque’s community to participate in active service (Trips to Pakistan for military training and engagement against the infidel or missions like 7/7)These rules continue forever until the whole world become Dar Al Islam and Sharia law rules.
You will note the black flag white writing being held at every single demonstration by Islamists peacefull or otherwise. It is the call to Islam. Join, submit or die.
This is how it has been in every place Islam meets other for 1400 years. The Wisdom of importing millions of these people will be questioned in history. If we are still here to write it.

“If we are still here to write it.”
Of course, but it’ll be in Arabic abjad.

“Did you imagine that we would ever see the day when a defence barrister would have to point out that it’s ‘not a crime to buy Bacon’? ”
That’s a lazy misrepresentation.
The linked piece indicates it was a case of a defence barrister saying ‘you can only prove that my client bought bacon, and there’s nowt wrong with that’. (Said bacon, it seems, was subsequently thrown at a mosque by a violent hooded gang.. hence the relevance to the case). There’s no suggestion that anyone needed any clarification on the legality or otherwise of buying bacon.

Galloway is quibbling over semantics. In Islam, it is considered that everyone is born a Muslim but some lose their way to other religions or do not believe at all. So Galloway is correct in saying that he hasn’t converted to Islam, he has reverted to Islam.

Whatever.
The point is this………there are a lot of British Muslims who swear loyalty to Allah before Queen and country.
That ain’t no good……….look what happened to Thomas More.

I must admit though……..Thomas More never posed for a picture with a RPG.
Wonder how many postal votes Mr. Hussain received.

As head of the Church of England I am sure there is no Muslims who swear allegience to the Queen or the country which they do not recognise as it is not Sharia compliant and therefore they cannot. Yet we seem to be obsessed with importing them.

It’s also happened here in Northumbria in the Dark Ages:

Imagine the images were of BNP members or EDL.
The BBC would be having a total fit. It seems that cultural relativity means that elected members of political parties in the UK are allowed to behave like they are soldiers of allah and nothing is said.
It is not as if there is a threat from islamist terrorism so obviously not important.

I learnt yesterday, should Bradford (postally) vote for an elected mayor later this week, the name of the leading Respect candidate for that position.
Two items of advice spring immediately to mind for Bradfordians:-
1) Lock away anything of value before November.
2) Be afraid, be very afraid.
So don’t come back in four years and say you weren’t warned. -

And to think I moved from Luton a few years ago to live near Bradford. Next move, somewhere far far away, Outer Mongolia maybe.

What does it matter whether Gorgious George is a muslim or a follower of Mithras or a druid? He is a backbench MP. In the event there was a parliament with a need for a single vote to govern then he may have some sway, but as a single MP from a tiny party he has as much influence as any of the readers of this blog on anything that parliament does. Practically none.
Comic value. Hes good for that. Meanwhile our economy is gubbed, we are losing boys every other day in pointless wars and a bunch of unelected folks in another country are imposing crap on us every day. Muslims in Bradford? The currys are better in Glasgow, from personal experience.

Actually, the curries are better in Cleckheaton and Heckmondwike and Dewsbury. Glasgow curries are too adapted for the Glaswegian middle classes.
Simon Cooke (vide above) is right most of the time. He lives there. So have I off and on for 45 years. Bradford is not a joke, outside the Westminster bubble and the least intelligent of the daily MSM.
It is a vibrant, non self-pitying, funny, beautiful, and very poor city (and the 4th largest city in England), with a great sense of black humour (can I say that?) about itself shared by its entire population of mainly white, but also African-Caribbean, Asian, and Eastern European people.
Seriously, what I have in common with someone from Bradford whether they are of Sikh, Polish, Catholic, Pakistani, German-Swiss Lutheran, Sri Lankan, Dominican, Bangladeshi, Estonian or Ukranian genetic/cultural background is far greater than any of us Bradfordians have with someone from, say, Croydon or Norfolk.
Just sayin’.
People need to understand that.
