To the people of Cambridge.
We all know what Parliament is, and we are all ashamed of it.
Robert Louis Stevenson
The last time a maverick thundered across the Cambridgeshire fens and requested the support of the good burgers of this city was in 1640. He was an outsider too.
Oliver Cromwell.
The people of Cambridge were brave enough to support him, to turn their backs on the forces of Conservatism and to let him ride his reforming steed into the heart of the bankrupt and undemocratic parliament that existed then.
Tomorrow another maverick will ask for your vote. Old Holborn. He too rails against an establishment that sees the electorate as a cash cow to produce the money that enables them to pursue their personal enrichment.
Rarely in this nation’s history has a Parliament earned so much contempt and scorn. It is a testament to the reforms that Oliver Cromwell instigated that it was 350 years before another rotten parliament was inflicted on us.
This Parliament has been unmasked as the home of an ugly mob of scoundrels, vagabonds, thieves and spendthrifts. And then, when they realised the game was up they despicably tried to amend their own Freedom Of Information Act so they would be immune from its provisions.
Without the tenaciousness of yet another outsider and maverick, Heather Brookes, we would still be unaware of the depths of depravity into which the ‘Mother of all Parliaments’ had descended.
The Prime Minster, a Member of Parliament for 27 years, has said he was ‘unaware’ of what was going on in Parliament. That statement alone makes him unfit to reform Parliament. If he cannot see what has been going on amongst his colleagues, he cannot be trusted to understand what is going on within the electorate.
If the people of Cambridge return an MP from one of the main parties tomorrow, they will be voting for more of the same, another party drone who will support the present system.
The only way in which Parliament will be reformed will be by another maverick, someone outside the party system who is committed to overthrow and reform the cosy enclave for personal enrichment that this rotten parliament represents.
The people of Cambridge have made history before. They have shown courage before. The country was deeply grateful to them.
It is time for them to do so again.
Vote for Old Holborn and help to reform Parliament.

Hear, hear. Very well put, Anna.
And not just in Cambridge either. Unless lucky enough in your constituency to have one of the tiny handful of truly liberal MPs, a vote for the big three is a vote for 5 more years of being ignored, castigated, and treated with contempt.

Look, we’ll never get anywhere, if you keep holding back ; tell us what you really think …

I rather doubt whether I’d ever be inclined to vote for someone whom I have only ever seen depicted wearing a mask and who stands under a nom de guerre.
