Quote of the Day
Alastair Campbell recognises the reality of 13 years of Labour rule…..!
The Conservatives:
“had the best imaginable playing field going into an election. A parlous economic state. Politics reeling from an expenses scandal. A government that has been in power for 13 years. A Prime Minister with low ratings who has survived a series of coups against his leadership”

Aye : had the Conservative Party pursued Tory policies, it would have romped home ; only a bunch of wets could have reduced the Conservative margin to such an extent that the party will be lucky to have the largest number of seats in the new parliament.
Assuming the Conservative Party wins an outright majority, however, we still face the reality that the likes of Bill Cash and John Redwood, together with any U.K.I.P. representatives, would not form a block large enough to defeat the wet agenda. Regardless of where to-morrow’s pebbles fall, the U.K. is still under the heel of the E.U. and the I.P.C.C.

Pericles….you’re right in the sense that the wets have power at the moment. However, there are a whole new bunch of MPs to be elected and who knows how they will react.

“… a whole new bunch of MPs to be elected and who knows how they will react?” — Cato
Certainly not I, Cato.
It would be nice to see the back of socialism (although the election of to-day’s Conservative Party hardly amounts to that) but what would be wonderful would be the demise of socialist manners. (No reflexion on you, Cato : just a general remark.)
