Please sir, can I have some Moore?
Everyone is a bit of a hypocrite sometimes. I catch myself being hypocritical, even. But for all that, there’s nothing I despise more than rank hypocrisy, especially from those who tell us how we should all live our lives, because they are better than we are, smarter than we are or more pious than we are.
And of course, Michael Moore is all of the above.
But most especially, he is a hypocrite:
Filmmaker Michael Moore has been approved to receive a refundable tax credit of up to $1 million from the State of Michigan Film Office for his 2009 documentary, “Capitalism: A Love Story,” and a Republican state senator in Michigan wants her state’s money back. Two years ago, Moore attacked the movie-subsidizing program for giving “free money” to corporations.
Yes, sir! Michael Moore had the absolute gall to attack this very program, and now he’s at the trough, reaching his greedy, fat, overpaid hand into the pockets of taxpayers and demanding money from the very system he’s decrying … in this very movie!
Let’s face it, anybody can have an “off-day” and slip into some petty hypocrisy, but overtness of this is appalling.
And the movie was rubbish, too.

Well, he’s a Democrat. Expecting him to have principles is like expecting a crocodile to have a conscience. See also Al Gore, etc…

I see the Tories are launching their manifesto from Battersea power station.
I’m surprised some enterprising blogger hasn’t used the famous Pink Floyd album cover for “Animals” with the giant inflatable Pig.

In his speech David Cameron claims to have “googled” Battersea power station. Surprisingly the above album cover wasn’t mentioned.

So they gave it to him, did they? Like you say, he can’t claim not to have known as he was applying while making the film.
