A Freedom of Information request has revealed that the Leicestershire Police force spent £548,477 in 2007-08, whilst assisting in the International search for Madeleine McCann but a Home Office grant covered most of this. Officers declined to detail expenses for operational reasons.

British officers, headed by Det Supt Stuart Prior of the Leicestershire force, conducted interviews of witnesses in the UK and passed possible sightings of Madeleine on to their Portuguese colleagues.

I am concerned about the emotional state of these parents. I so wish that
their defenders would not keep saying that they do all their emotions behind
closed doors and in private.

That is utter bollocks! The Clan were brought up in very ordinary
households – and unlike our own Royal Household were not trained in the arts
of hiding their emotions. (See Big Frilly Philly’s TV appearances to find out
what I mean – I have seen more manners and decorum in a sh*it-house rat!)

So yes ……………. I am concerned about the mental states of the pair of them –
Doctors do not behave as cool and controlled as this ………. Doctors reach for
the booze and the pills to prop themselves up with.

They are bizarre and that’s for sure.

I repeat what I said earlier – parents in this emotional state shouldn’t
be allowed to dictate spending, the money should have been held by the
Public Guardian.
In this case the Trustees are as involved as the
parents, and their judgment must be just as clouded by their personal loss –
it is unfair on them, the pressure would be relieved if an independent body
was making the financial decisions.

And I do think we all should be angry, whether we donated or not BECAUSE
they did NOT spent it ALL and also not on the SEARCH.
