3500 Corus Workers Are Steeled To Lose Their Jobs. Ta Ta to Tata!
Steel giant Corus is axing more than 10% of its UK workforce with the loss of 2500 jobs in the UK alone.
Its Indian parent company Tata is currently announcing a series of cost-cutting measures. Sadly they no longer need their UK workforce.
Barratts the shoe company have just appointed administrators and many thousands of people are in fear of losing their jobs. Looks like British companies and foreign companies no longer have a need for UK workers anymore.
In a month when we have seen long-established High Street stores such as Woolworths go to the wall – it is high time Gordon Brown took the reins in one hand and his purse in the other and ensures that people are sent for re-training and skill development immediately.
Don’t abandon the unemployed as if they were just coal-miners Browno!
Don’t allow people to lose their jobs and the ability to buy products in their own communities – like they did in the 80′s – Because people are no longer as passive and patient as they once were!
The people want action today – not next Summer.
Strikes and riots are predicted if he does not act more quickly. He cannot continue wandering about with a mop and bucket!
Don’t wait for the spillage Browno. Your country has decided it no longer really needs you.

Cheers Lucille Astique! I have a Co-Op not far away. My Hubby says it
reminds him of lipstick and shampoo! I don’t know who he has been hanging
around with!

Just for info, Coco – I checked out the fizzy drinks tonight in the
supermarket (The Co-op, if you want to know) and there, in all its orange and
blu glory, was IRN-BRU. So yes, you can still get it, but since I bought a
nostalgic can a few years ago, I couldn’t wholeheartedly recommend it.

The Real World is just so horrible ………… Fare ye well Saul! ………… And make

Hubbly Bubbly, the youth club’s choice of fizzy drink. Table Tennis! Now
there is a cure for knife crime, get them all playing, then they can progress
to Badminton. Such a nice social sport.
Handy tip No 1, keep your kids within arms length, then you can either give
them a clip round the earhole, or ask them the answer to a Teletubbies
question.
Except in Poland.

IRN BRU!!! That is exactly what I meant to ask for!!! Not bloody Tizer!
Where did I get Tizer from? Thank God you are a mind-reader Saul. Forgive my
neglect tonight ………. Been multi-tasking and making an arse of everything
today.
Due to my not being a well person ……… I find that I can only do one thing
at once if it has to be done properly!
Now ……… Where did I leave my children ………..? Who did I leave them wth ……….
Did I even leave them with anybody?
Bugger! I will just have to go and dine
at the bottom of the garden with a bouteille de vin …….. or two ……… And try
and remember ………. Christ! I cannot even remember their bloody names or how old
they are!
Am I a bad parent?

Just a quickie! Is Tizer still sold anywhere? I live in a bubble ……… If it
doesn’t come into my sphere of influence ………. I don’t know it’s there!
If it’s not at Waitrose, John Lewis, Marks and Spencer’s or Amazon and Ebay
………. I don’t know what’s on the market anymore ………. I lead such an insular old
life ………. I think I have turned into my Mum!
I need to get out more ……… But are there even any shops left if I do?

‘Twould appear that I am amongst and mongering with wordsmiths of the

Our Woolworths always had a few letters missing from its brick-mounted name
and we always (used to) refer to it fondly as either Olworts or Ooths.

They will have to girder their loins. Gordon should give a cast iron
guarantee to the people losing their jobs, that he will offer as much support
to them as he gave the financial sector. If not, the people will show their
mettle come election time.

I know! Scary isn’t it ……….. that so few stores have us all by the bollocks
……….. and that there are so few family-owned businesses allowed to survive
…………
And the tax situation ………. makes it even easier for the little shops to
give up and stop trading and hand over their meagre profits to the big
boys.
And if the farmers are paid by the big supermarkets to give them their best
foods ……… the little corner shop fares less well when trying to get hold of
the choice stuff ……….
And the supermarkets corner more of the market ………. And we keep voting
Labour thinking that they won’t be Tories ………… But they are Tories and they
think like Tories and act like Tories ………. So let’s just vote Tory and cut out
the middle man!

Hmmm. Now where can we buy all the CDs, DVDs, kids’ clothes, washing lines,
fabric dyes, pick’n’mix, photo albums, stationery, toys and games, pots and
pans etc. that Woolworth’s used to sell? Hmmm. Ah yes! I know! Tesco. Every
Little Helps.
And where can we buy the meat that our local butcher used to sell? Hmm. Ah
yes! I know! Tesco. Every Little Helps.
And where can we buy a bottle of Tixylix since our local pharmacy closed
down 2 years ago? Ah yes! I know! Tesco. Every Little Helps.
And where can we buy all the little things that our local 7-11 independent
store used to sell? Hmmm. Ah yes! I know! It’s now Tesco Express. Every Little
Helps.
I understand that Tesco now sells furniture and insurance and for all I
know, since I don’t shop there, igloos and organ transplants. So if Barratts
closes down, Tesco might simply see the opportunity to expand the range of
footwear it sells. Quite possibly, Tesco will also decide to manufacture
little cars and pick-up trucks. Or sell them at least. Every Little Helps.
