A coalition of MPs, celebrities, scientists and green campaigners has bought land earmarked for a third runway at Heathrow airport from under the noses of the Government.
They say they will never sell the football pitch-sized plot to airport owner BAA, threatening to hold up the runway for years.
The unlikely group of opponents listed among the new owners of the land include Justine Greening, a Tory Treasury spokesman, Liberal Democrat frontbencher Susan Kramer and Left-wing Labour MP John McDonnell.

What a clever idea to allow so many thousands of people to have a few
inches of the land!
Methinks there are some superbly clever-thinking but subversive lawyers out
there …….

It’s about time that influential personalities got off their arses and gave
something back to the people that pay them exorbitant amounts of money to
display their crafts and play on their hobby-horses.
